Story

Kia Ora Whanau,

I'm fundraising for The Kindness Institute because their kaupapa strives to create equity in wellbeing within the community through their values around self-development, growth, and holistic wellness, whilst being financially accessible. It also aligns with my personal mahi, personal practices. As a Wahine Māori, passionate about mental health, physical wellbeing, and cultivating an optimistic mindset, I deeply resonate with the Institute’s mahi (work).

Their focus on empowering marginalised communities in Aotearoa, especially our rangatahi, to build stronger mindsets, strategies and tools for life is something I wholeheartedly believe in. The Kindness Institute’s efforts in promoting mindfulness, movement, and leadership, grounded in Te Ao Māori principles, are the kind of support I believe our communities need and can greatly benefit from. This aligns with the work of Iron Māori, which also focuses on empowering individuals through fitness and wellbeing to make lasting positive change.

Taking on the challenge of my first half Ironman is not just a physical test for me, but a reflection of the resilience and determination I want to inspire in others. By supporting The Kindness Institute, we are helping to create stronger individuals and communities, empowering rangatahi to carry with them the mindset and skills they need on their life journey. Their mahi is something I am inspired and motivated by. I’m excited to support / contribute to their vision.

If you feel like this is something you would like to support or align with yourself, feel free to give a little pūtea to do so. All and any donations are warmly welcomed.

Ka nui te mihi ki a koe!

Nia
